Analysis of the main international conventions on trade and the natural environment approved by Colombia

The Policy and Legislation Research Program develops a complete analysis of the main international conventions on trade and the natural environment which have been signed, adhered to, approved by and/or ratified by Colombia and which relate to biodiversity. Up to this moment the analysis of the Convention on International Trade of Endangered Species (CITES) and the analysis of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) have been completed. Each study is developed under the light of the Convention on Biological Diversity, approved by Colombia trough Law number 165, 1994, according to the following scheme:
  1. Conservation of biological diversity
  2. Sustainable use of its elements
  3. Just and equitable participation in the benefits which derive from the use of genetic resources
  4. Cooperation
  5. Education and Training
  6. Monitoring
  7. Financial resources and mechanisms
